Celebrate World Book Night!

23 April is World Book Night, the annual celebration of books and reading run by us at The Reading Agency for people all across the UK.

World Book Night is a chance for everyone to celebrate reading, either on your own or with others in your book club! There are lots of ways that you can join in:

1. Read a book during the #ReadingHour at 7-8pm on 23 April! Share what you’re reading on social media using #ReadingHour and #WorldBookNight to join the online celebration

2. Share books with someone else. Talk to friends about the books you would recommend, lend books to each other or gift them. Buy a book from Bookshop.org to support The Reading Agency and independent bookshops at no additional cost to you

3. Hold a party, quiz night or reading group to bring your friends together and celebrate reading. Find out more about starting a reading group.

This year, World Book Night is all about creating a nation of readers, and we’re thrilled to feature the new Quick Reads series as this year’s booklist. Quick Reads are short books and great stories by bestselling authors, written in an accessible and easy-to-read style. They’re a valuable tool for boosting reading skills, confidence and engagement in learning, and have led to thousands of adults reading, completing and enjoying a book for the first time.
